what is Annealed Copper

Annealed copper is copper that has been reheated to above its crystallization temperature and held there until all previous thermal history is removed and then cooled under controlled conditions.
Depending on the shape and mass this could be anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.
During this process, which really occurs during the cooling phase, the crystalline matrix regrows along a linear line and the resultant matrix increases in ductility and lowers its hardness,
thus making the metal more malleable and easier to form.
