When it comes to the Adidas Superstar Men, it feels like we’ve seen it all—while not at all. Despite the incredible amount of inventive arrangements that had already surfaced, the 1969 classic somehow continues to be able to test its creativity with new releases. For two upcoming designs, the Three Stripes uses bold, suede mudguards to amp up an otherwise simple body.

Everything else from the signature shell toe to the leather construction is hued in white much like the Adidas Superstar Women many iconic OGs. The laces as well as the tongue and midsole follow suit, while the panels over top begin to contrast in a water color replete with shades both blue and purple. These tones come together in a fashion almost iridescent and visually similar to the shells of abalone.

Surprisingly, Ariel’s pair is the most simple — her Adidas Superstar Cheap, which features scale-adorned Stripes, dressed only with a quote and no portrait. The supporting cast, however, actually take the spotlight, inspiring silhouettes from the Ozweego to the Gazelle. The latter, for starters, pays homage to Max, the lovable English Sheepdog that stood by the side of Prince Eric. In contrast, the former is far more vile, with Ursula hidden along the inside. Adidas Superstar Sale colored nods to King Triton as well as Flotsam/Jetsam, then, round off the collection via the Stan Smith and NMD R1, respectively.
